Punta Crena, Riviera Ligure di Ponente Pigato, 2024 bdycount091824 These are not fruit bombsLiguria's Riviera di Ponente is one of Italy's most dramatically sited wine regions terraced cliffs dropping to the Mediterranean and Punta Crena is among its finest estates. Pigato is the local white grape, believed to be related to Vermentino but distinctly more textured and bitter edged in character. Punta Crena's version comes from old vines on terraced schist soils above Varigotti, farmed organically and vinified with restraint. This is Italian
