5 x 12 (wxdxh cms)
this piece displays beautifully hand-carved friezes running along the apron
It was originally constructed as a daybed and would have been far deeper
The original brass locking mechanism and elegantly restrained proportions allow the beautiful timber to take centre stage
The interior includes two sturdy iron chains which prevent the lid from falling open — a practical feature of traditional Indian dowry chests
6 Door Elm Sideboard From Mongolia Origin - Nepal 5 x 12 (wxdxh cms)This sideboard is made from old reclaimed elm & poplar wood in the style of an old farmhouse grain store. This style is specific to the Northern provinces of China, specifically Mongolia and Shanxi province, China. This simple, yet, sophisticated design would look great both in a contemporary setting or in a more traditional home.
