Dutch Colonial Satin Wood Chest From Ceylon -18thC Kang Tables Striking with tea lights andThis majestic Indo Dutch chest harks back to the colonial days and the 'Spice Wars'. Originally from colonial Ceylon (modern day Sri Lanka), it dates from the middle of the 18th century. It is beautifully constructed from jackfruit wood with ebony trim and beading. The intricate and flamboyant brass decoration makes this chest incredibly striking. It is an exceptional example of Indo Dutch furniture and would have been owned by a wealthy trader
