The inkwell features a brass top lid with a small sliding door that is opened to access the ink

but the fur helps the damage blend in so it is not overtly noticeable

It came from an estate in Holden, Massachusetts, along with similar paintings signed by an E. MacNutt, who I believe to be Elaine MacNutt, a noted stained glass art teacher from Holden and wide of Robert MacNutt. This painting is not signed, but I presume it is by the same artist. The frame measures 15" x 10"
