Description

A most unusual form of ‘Bat Plant’ with the bizarre flowers with long tendrils

Probably it should be described as albomarginated

The inflorescence emerging between the stiff leaves looked a lot like the inflorescence of a pineapple

It has very large spines which give it character and an erect inflorescence with large green flowers

In cultivation it has been rare and never fails to be newsworthy when one blooms

Dyckia beateae SEL97-0223 X SINCORTHOTANTHUS A most unusual form ofThis is a rarity, relatively new on the collector scene. We started out with just a single offset and it has taken us several years to propagate them to the only half dozen or so that we have now. The plant forms a large rosette, to over 12in across, with recurving stiff bronzy leaves that have really giant spines. Very attractive!
